With 36 years of experience, covering both Macomb & Oakland counties and assisting in most of SE Michigan.
If you find an injured or orphaned bird of prey, please DO NOT post on face book or give to anyone unless they have a federal license to hold and care for these birds. These birds are protected by the North American Treaty Act and

These birds are protected by the North American Treaty Act and there are reasons these birds must legally go to a licensed and experienced rehabilitator.
Spirit Filled wings holds; both state & federal licenses, threatened & endangered species permits, scientific collectors permit, federal educational permits for live birds.
Born is considered a volunteer with both the MDNR and the USF&WS

Spirit Filled Wings is not funded, nor paid, and depends on donations from those bringing injured or orphaned birds of prey, in order to provide services. Donations can be made through PayPal or when bringing a bird to Spirit Filled Wings. Spirit Filled Wings is not open to the public yet depends heavily on the public for help in getting these injured birds.

SFWs provides immediate medical care on site, proper nutrition, medication, housing and conditioning care. Surgeries are provided through experienced raptor veterinarians. All adult birds that are releasable are returned from where they came. Orphaned young are raised by foster parents or re-nested with original parents.
